iOS 4.3.4 now Released by Apple to fix JailbreakME 3.0 Exploit

| July 15, 2011 | 0 Comments

How do you like the feeling of having an iPhone 4 jailbroken in just a few minutes without any tools to use? A hundred thanks (if not millions) to Comex through JailbreakMe 3.0 for providing that opportunity for us.

But as predicted by many, and now a reality, Apple has now released the latest iOS update to firmware 4.3.4 which is now available in iTunes. This move from Apple is clearly for the purpose of fixing the exploit made by JailbreakME 3.0 in all iDevices running iOS 4.3.3 (iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and iPad 2).

As what Apple describe regarding the updates in their website, its main purpose is to fix the PDF exploit uncovered and distributed by Comex in his JailbreakME 3.0.

For everyone out there who wants to stay with a jailbroken iPhone 4, DO NOT update your device to iOS 4.3.4 especially if you used JailbreakME 3.0. Instead, don’t forget to install PDF Patcher 2 to cover the hole made in the exploit.  Make sure to backup your SSH blobs in the event that you need to downgrade.

It takes more than a week for Apple to solve their problem. But for the jailbreak community, one day is enough to fix a hole. No wonder why some of the best jailbreak developers are now sitting in the Cupertino company offices. I hope that Apple will soon recognize and thank the people behind the jailbreak community since by any angle of analysis, jailbreaking helps their sales!
