Jailbreak Themes Review: iAwesome and GinoAwesome

| July 23, 2011 | 0 Comments

Having an iPhone is a great experience and I believed that the best reason why we really wanted to jailbreak our iPhone is so that we can customize it according to our taste and choice. Not like other smartphones that you just have to live on what it has offered. I want to share with you my two favorite iPhone WinterBoard themes in customizing your iPhone. Please take note that these themes only work if your iDevice was jailbroken.

iAwesome

iAwesome is a great theme to customize your icons in your iPhone. It contains modded icons, wallpaper, status bar, lockscreen badges and quite a few UI mods. The great feature that iAwseome theme has offered is that it contains an icon overlay for all the icons, and not just the icons which are designed for the theme. If you will browse through the AppStore, you can also see that even the icons in AppStore are covered with the overlay.

To install iAwesome theme, you need to jailbreak first your iPhone. Make sure you have WinterBoard installed in your iPhone. Launch Cydia and search “iAwesome theme”.  After installing from Cydia, open WinterBoard and activate iAwesome Theme.

GinoAwesome

A fun and colorful WinterBoard theme, GinoAwesome is free yet offers an extraordinary transformation of your iPhone springboard after being installed. With its unique icons for a lot of apps, it’s fun to see your iPhone working with what you like.

Installing GinoAwesome theme is almost similar to iAwesome but you need first to add its repo: http://apt.pwncenter.com. Search for “GinoAwesome” in Cydia and install it. Launch Winterboard and activate GinoAwesome theme. Your springboard will respring after closing WinterBoard.
