BlackBerry will be showing off only software at the BlackBerry World this year

Research in Motion (RIM) announced the BlackBerry World 2012 will be going to be held from the 1st to the 3rd of May, 2012, in Orlando, Florida. I am pretty sure a lot of BlackBerry fans were happy to know this as they will be able to see what is coming up from the company they like. Yes, there still are many BlackBerry fans. But for some people, there was one question which was bugging a lot, will there be any new hardware accompanying the new BlackBerry OS 10?

A spokesperson from Research in Motion has answered this question quite plainly and simply, by saying ”We are not unveiling any BlackBerry 10 hardware.” So, there you go, there will no hardware at the BlackBerry World 2012 this time. This is a let down, I know. But the upside of this is that you will be able to get a sneak peak of the new BlackBerry 10 operating system, the new operating system from BlackBerry which is based on the QNX platform.

You would have seen the images leaked on the internet which show a device being used at the BlackBerry labs to test the new operating system and the apps on it. These devices, which are not the final devices for the BlackBerry OS 10 operating system, will be given to the attendees of the BlackBerry Jam event. So, if you are attending the BlackBerry Jam event, you are one lucky geek.

The BlackBerry 10 OS along with the new and the final hardware will be released to the public sometime in August. So giving out the new hardware months before the actual release of the device is not a good business tactic. Hence, the decision. Anyway, let us just enjoy the new OS.
