Your contact list is the only app that people only give attention to when there is a problem in it. Problems like duplicate names or contacts with no contact information. This not only creates a clutter in your contact list and makes it difficult for you to search for a person, but it also affects your Android phone’s processing as well. Therefore, following are some tips that will help you in eliminating that clutter and have a neat contact list on your Android phone.

Google Contacts

Most Android phone users have a Google account for any of the many reasons. So, the easiest way to remove duplicate contacts from your phone is by visiting contacts.google.com and sign in with the same account that you use on your phone. You will notice that Google already has your contacts on its list if not, then you can use the synchronize feature to do so. The reason this option works is because the synchronization goes both ways, so if you add or delete a contact using your computer, it will automatically update on your android device.

In order to get rid of duplicate contacts and contact information’s, Google has a deduping feature. Just click on the More button at the top and select “Find and merge duplicates.” This will merge all of your duplicate contacts and list them as one. Moreover, you can also manually select contacts and merge them into one.

Google Contacts will help you solve the problem in your contact app on your phone. In order to take care of other issues in your phone, you will have to manage your connected accounts. Your phone adds all contacts from your accounts such as facebook, twitter, yahoo etc onto your Android phone. You can manage these by trimming off some accounts or with the help of contact settings.
