Dartz Previews Nagel Dakkar, Looks Like An Off-Roader Fit For Kings
The name Dartz might not be a familiar one for many of us. The Russian automaker is primarily an armored SUV designer and manufacturer and is best known for the SUV model Prombron, which happens to be the most expensive SUV in the whole world. You might also remember the SUV from the recent movie, “The Dictator”. So, now that the introduction is over and you have a fairly good idea about what we are dealing with here, let us move on to the actual topic. Dartz has now previewed an upcoming model, which it calls, Nagel Dakkar and from the looks of it, it will give the Lamborghini Urus, a run for its money.
According to the press release, the Nagel Dakkar is not an SUV but instead, is a first of a new class of vehicles called B.N.U.D.S. Now the company has an interesting expansion for this acronym.
“Bespoke – as every car will be made specially for You
Noble – as this car will be sold under world one of the oldest car labels
Urban – as will be excellent for city ride – and doesn’t matter narrows streets of Monaco, of wide highway in LA.
Desert – car will be based on tubular frame and designed by famous SAM – Saxon Automobile Manufactur[er] which is well known with their rally car with all performance issues
Safety – using titanium tubular frame in new car will be achieved unseen before safety for “civil” cars.”
The name ‘Nagel Dakkar’ comes from the famous Russian driver Andrew Nagel, who in 1912, placed 1st in the Monte Carlo rally and again in the year, crossed the Dakkar desert.
Dartz has brought out a renderings of the Nagel Dakkar, designed by German designer Pochwatta and two sketches, drawn by designer Alex Isaev. Dartz will provide customers with the option to order customized units(including the body design), modified according to their likings.
The luxury off-roader or BNUDS as they call it, will start at a base price between 250,000 – 300,000 euros or $390,000-$468,000. The company intends to keep this vehicle ultra exclusive, with 10 units to be built in 2013, 20 in 2014 and 40 units each between the years 2015-2017.
